Nearly every workplace in the country is already impacted by artificial intelligence. Here’s how artificial intelligence might shape the workplace of the future.

As a curious tech fan, I was reading about the buzzwords of the century, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, a few days ago. It was utterly intriguing how these technologies are altering and are likely to change the approaching future of human life on Earth. That is why I have decided to dedicate this post to the Future of Artificial Intelligence to explore the potential of a new era with machine learning and artificial intelligence.


Most people associate artificial intelligence (AI) with smarty-pants robots that can cater to our every whim. While real robots are possible, AI’s future will also change how humans operate (in real life and in the metaverse). AI is already present in your workplace: When you use Google Maps to find your way to an off-site meeting (possibly in a self-driving car? ), you are utilizing AI.

However, AI’s current status and future go far beyond reducing ordinary chores. Artificial intelligence, or computers taught to “think” like humans, can make us healthier, less stressed, and happier through advances in medicine, manufacturing, and other fields.

It is not without drawbacks, however. So, let’s look at what the future of AI holds for the workplace, including some potential downsides and positives.


You are surrounded by artificial intelligence. Are you looking for work? AI may evaluate resumes before they reach a person. Do you use your phone’s voice assistant to aid you with work-related tasks? Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri all employ artificial intelligence to answer questions and complete tasks.

When you search for information on Google or another search engine, you are employing AI. AI is used when your business automobile keeps you from swerving off the road while you’re tired.

Manufacturers use AI to develop simpler, less expensive ways to make higher-quality products. AI may also examine the history of manufacturing equipment to find the ideal times to service it.

In the medical field, AI can detect malignancies more accurately than radiologists. It can also diagnose other diseases and decide how to proceed with medication trials.

And, while Web3, the subsequent development of the internet, is still in its early stages, we can see how it and AI may combine to provide a work experience unlike any other. Some businesses are already holding meetings in the metaverse, and experts predict this will become increasingly common.


When people think about the future of AI, they have one key question in mind: Will robots take my job? Most experts agree that humans will continue to be an important component of the workforce for a long time.

“As more of the mundane tasks that people are forced to do in the name of productivity are intelligently automated using AI, people will be free to do what we all do best and what makes us happiest: creative problem-solving,” writes Robb Wilson, an AI researcher and author of Age of Invisible Machines. “This will necessitate a significant adjustment in our understanding about what is valuable in the world and how we meet our basic needs.”

Wilson adds that, while some occupations will be lost, others involving working particularly with AI will emerge. The most significant change may be in what we get out of employment, similar to the remaking of labor during the Industrial Revolution. Many jobs will become more meaningful as humans collaborate alongside AI to solve challenges in novel and creative ways.

“So much of modern culture is structured around the idea of putting in 40 hours at work,” Wilson says, “regardless of whether those hours spent linked to a place, a desk, or a position are truly required.” Companies of the future may abandon the concept of a 40-hour workweek.

“With technology as a partner, we should be able to live in a future where everyone’s work is some form of creatively contributing to solving the numerous problems surrounding us,” he argues. “There are undeniably ways in which technology may assist us in creating and managing a surplus of resources [such as food, water, housing, and medicine] in ways that may render the 40-hour workday obsolete.” Depending on how you see the world, that might be a frightening or liberating thought.”



AI has already transformed nearly every industry, but the future of AI promises to transform even more industries.


Doctors can better diagnose ailments with artificial intelligence, increasing the likelihood of lifesaving early treatment.

They might utilize AI to develop new treatments for diseases such as dementia and cancer and to forecast future ailments by merging a patient’s health history and genetic data to create a preventative care plan.


In the future, AI-powered robots and machines could replace customer service personnel, cashiers, and even chefs. Fast-food establishments already have robots handling fry baskets and other tasks.


AI facial recognition in security cameras could soon assist police officers in catching potential offenders. Intelligent bots may even be able to replace police officers. Some organizations are already using AI-powered robots as security officers.


AI is already being developed to detect and protect consumers from online fraud. The AI will be able to detect spending and credit activity changes better than the present (sometimes incorrect) activity notifications.


Bid farewell to taxi and Lyft drivers. Cars will be able to drive themselves in the future (some already do). We may even see self-driving trains and airplanes.


AI now targets you with personalized adverts on social media sites, but it may eventually be capable of creating the ads or stories you view. There are already article and ad-writing bots that promise to be nearly as excellent as a human creator.


There are numerous advantages to adopting artificial intelligence in the workplace, but the main advantage is that it does repetitive and tedious activities that no one wants to do. This can make the human job easier, allowing us to be more productive with less effort. AI can, for example, input data into spreadsheets, assist online customers in returning items, and fill out forms.

“AI can mean the difference between being ahead or falling behind in any particular market,” says Lou Bachenheimer, Ph.D., chief technology officer of the Americas at SS&C Blue Prism, a global pioneer in intelligent automation.

“When combined with appropriate technologies like intelligent automation, AI has the potential to significantly improve customer experience, adapt to rapidly changing market conditions, bring new products and services to market faster and more efficiently, boost competitiveness, and create a better working environment for its employees.”

And there is a silver lining to AI’s impact on the job market. Many vocations, such as customer service positions, may become obsolete as AI advances. However, the increased presence of AI in our life will pave the way for future technologies and jobs that do not now exist. According to the World Economic Forum, artificial intelligence (AI) would displace 85 million jobs while creating 97 million new ones in 26 nations by 2025.

And they may be higher-paying employment than those lost due to artificial intelligence. After all, we’ll need people to create, maintain, and use AI. The only hitch is that many new occupations will require extensive training. This may be more difficult for some people to achieve due to the high expense of advanced degrees, disability, and other concerns.


While the future of AI has many advantages, it also has certain disadvantages. Artificial intelligence prejudice, environmental consequences, and computers’ lack of emotional intelligence are all flaws in the system.


Humans have biases, which they can pass on to the AI they create. AI can even unintentionally learn biases from data sets. This is especially dangerous when corporations utilize AI for job recruitment. And that won’t be an issue in the far future.

Many businesses already employ AI to weed through job applications, but a machine might reject resumes that contradict its bias. Amazon, for example, had to cease using AI to analyze applications after discovering a prejudice against female applicants. Because men made up most of the applicants, the AI judged that men were the best prospects for the job.


Another issue with the development of artificial intelligence is that computation and processing power can be prohibitively expensive and environmentally harmful. Just as NFTs are terrible for the environment because they demand a lot of processing power to purchase and transfer AI training requires powerful processors.

These computers (graphics processing units or GPUs) need tremendous energy to train an AI, often for months. Over 3.5 days, one training that teaches an AI to understand human language emits 626,155 pounds of CO2. This has almost the same environmental impact as driving five automobiles.

Deep learning, a sort of machine learning that uses artificial neural networks to make the machine think like a human, is responsible for much of the environmental effect. It’s the mind behind self-driving cars, for example.


Machines excel at processing transactions fast and accurately, but they fall short in many areas requiring sophisticated thinking or emotions, according to Bachenheimer. They lack the emotional intelligence that humans possess.

As an example, consider chatbots. In most situations, they cannot give a positive user experience because they cannot employ emotional intelligence to provide superior customer support. They frequently fall short when a human touch is required if the solution to the problem is complex and requires imagination.


While AI has drawbacks, nothing is stopping it from progressing. Experts emphasize that as AI advances, humans must monitor and regulate its advancement to maintain it as ethically and environmentally benign as feasible.
